"Kilauea Moonbow Magic" - Summit Eruption with Double Moonbow Colors
This image was captured as part of a motion time-lapse sequence featured in my short film “Kilauea - The Winter Solstice Eruption”. This was maybe the most memorable moonbow for me as before this moment I didn’t realize moonbows could be so vivid and colorful! The lava glow creates the most magical blend of different colors against the stunning moonbow.
This was during the 2020-21 summit eruption that began the refill of the collapsed Halema’uma’u crater.
