CE09: 2022 Total Lunar Eclipse

On the night of November 7th-8th we were fortunate enough to experience a total lunar eclipse with a lengthy totality. Here on Hawaii Island we had high clouds and our first few locations got engulfed in clouds, we had to move around and finally found a good spot just before Earth’s shadow fully covered the full moon. CE08: 2022 Planetary Alignment

In late June of 2022 all the naked eye visible planets were lined up along with the moon creating a beautiful composition in the eastern skies. This installment of CE focuses on those am hours as the moon and our solar system rise into view. Music by Dorian Pinto via MusicVine.

CE07: 2021 Perseids Meteor Shower

The Perseids Meteor Shower of 2021 did not disappoint, we captured it from the slopes of both Kilauea and Mauna Loa over a three night shoot. As seen in CE05, the Geminids Meteor Shower in 2020, we featured real-time meteors captured with 24fps video. This time around we feature both real-time and time-lapse of the 2021 Persieds show.

CE04: 2019 Super Wolf Blood Moon

Shot on Mauna Loa at 11K feet on January 20th, 2019. The 4th installment of Celestial Events by Page Films features the Super Wolf Blood Moon, the last total lunar eclipse until 2021.

CE03: 2018 Geminids Meteor Shower

This time around I spent three nights capturing time-lapse of the 2018 Geminids meteor shower from the Kulanaokuaiki Campground in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

CE02: 2018 Perseids Meteor Shower

On August 12th, 2018 the perseids meteor shower peaked with brilliant streaks of color sprinkled throughout the sky. We captured it from over 10K' on Mauna Loa and from the Kona coast on the Big Island of Hawaii.

CE01: 2018 Full Moon and Fissure 8 Volcanic Plume

In June of 2018 Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano was erupting ferociously from lower Puna while creating its own weather system. We spent the evening of June 28th on the summit of Mauna Kea capturing the plume from 'Fissure 8' as it was illuminated by the sunset and full moon.
